Spaying and castration
Cats
Cats can generally be spayed or castrated from 6 months of age. If your cat appears to be maturing at an earlier age than 6 months or your cat is at risk of early pregnancy, spay or castration at younger than six months of age is possible. Please feel free to telephone the Practice for advice.

Dogs
Male dogs can be castrated from the age of 6 months. There are a number of indications for castration of dogs and we are happy to discuss issues associated with castration so that you can decide whether you wish this to be performed or not.

A bitch can be spayed from 6 months of age. Most bitches can be spayed prior to having a season; however there are a small number of breeds which our Veterinary Surgeons prefer to allow to have a season before being spayed. We will happily discuss the options with you.
